THANKS to a superb performance by Chad Lookwhy, St Dominic's Priory beat Bethelsdorp by seven wickets in their schools cricket encounter at the weekend.
Batting first, Bethelsdorp openers Ameer Desai and Deenen Hart handled the Priory attack well and took the score to 62 before the first wicket fell.
Soon after this, Priory decided to go for a concerted spin attack and were well rewarded. Lookwhy began to dominate the match with slow and well-flighted bowling, taking eight for 30 as the Bethelsdorp wickets began to tumble.
A quickfire 15 by No11 Nickshann Pangane helped Bethelsdorp reach 113.
In reply, Priory lost two quick wickets but Lookwhy continued his dominant form, scoring an unbeaten 70 and hitting the winning runs with a six over long-off to give Priory a well-deserved victory.
