HOW the Summerstrand Extension 1 legal issue becomes a racial issue is beyond me ("Racism storm over PE house", February 22). Making it a racial issue is a smokescreen by the council to hide its own incompetence.
To my knowledge it has sat on a request by Marais Ellis to have this legislation fixed for more than five years. The title deed restrictions should have been superceded by normal zoning by-laws ages ago.
This reinforces my view that the only management style of this council is "crisis management". Wait till you have a burning platform before trying to address the problem.
Another reason to have the ANC removed from power before the burning platform is the city of Port Elizabeth.
