Legal 'buffer' for Steenkamp family

THE parents of murdered Port Elizabeth model Reeva Steenkamp yesterday turned to lawyers in an attempt to block the media from talking to them.

De Villiers Incorporated attorney Mike Venter said he was contracted by the family to act as a "buffer" between Steenkamp's parents, June and Barry, and the media.

"It has been tense and they have suffered a traumatic loss. The family is simply exhausted and they need a buffer between them and the media," he said.
