Kings must keep on believing – Strauss

STAND-IN captain and Southern Kings backline enforcer Andries Strauss says it is vital the rookie rugby franchise continue believing in themselves.

Strauss, who took over the captaincy during his team's 22-10 win over the Western Force after Luke Watson left the field injured, was a key player as the Kings upset the odds at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at the weekend.

"We have to keep on believing that we belong in this competition. Lots of people backed us before we played the Force and we decided to feed off the positives," Strauss, a former Cheetahs and Sharks star, said. "The Kings backed themselves to get a victory, and it is good to have a win under our belt."
