Hope for all in new initiative

01 March 2013

AN innovative new foundation aimed at assisting mentally and physically challenged children was launched in Nelson Mandela Bay last night.

Co-founded by the Jones family – whose younger daughter is physically disabled – and four other trustees, the Hope Jones Foundation will partner able-bodied school children with their disabled counterparts to spread the word about developmental and physical disorders.

At the opening of The Hope Jones Foundation held at the Father's House Family Church in Stanley Street, Richmond Hill, last night, founding member Gary Jones announced the launch of an ambassador programme aimed at selecting able-bodied school children to assist with their campaign.

The programme identified a handful of pupils from Summerwood Primary, Collegiate Girls Junior and High and Framesby schools to be paired up with handicapped children from the Aurora Special Care Centre and Cape Recife School.
