THE Investec Night Relay is back for a summer series this year, beginning next week.
Entries are open for the first race on Thursday, so rally your colleagues and challenge last year's rivals in this year's three-part business relay series.
Held on the first Thursday of the month from March to May, the Night Relay series kicks off from North End Lake, where running teams of five or walking teams of three will tackle the 4.2km route around the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium precinct and North End Lake.
"We are delighted to be sponsoring the Investec Night Relay series once again," Investec Specialist Bank regional manager Cumesh Moodliar said. "We are excited to be part of urban renewal, and this is a tremendous opportunity for Investec to join our friends and colleagues in the Port Elizabeth business community in a lively, healthy and fun-filled event."
This is the second year Investec have sponsored the event, with last year's series attracting over 190 business teams and being recognised as a key team-building event within the local business community.
"This year's event promises to be even more entertaining than last year, with a beer garden, braais and a DJ adding to the post-run festivities," organiser Michael Zoetmulder of Zports said. "So don't miss out – get your teams together, log on to our website and join in."
The events start each evening at 6pm and prize-giving follows the race at 8.45pm.
A beer garden managed by the Rotary Club of PE Sunrise will be operational and open fires will be available. Running teams enter for R500 and walking teams for R300 a race evening. Teams are encouraged to enter online to avoid the late entry fee on race nights.
