DUMP SITE A LESSON

THE Kabega dump site is a lesson to all the beggars at the robots. With a bit of effort it can be done. Congratulations.

JOHN, PORT ELIZABETH

WELL DONE TO THE KINGS

WELL done to the Kings. Now we need to give our stadium an intimidating name.

LIFELONG EP SUPPORTER

SATURDAY's rugby was great! Now wouldn't it be nice if: we could be known as the crowd that doesn't boo, we could have a real captain who actually plays all the games, not just the high profile ones, perhaps have a real go-getter like Jacques Engelbrecht to replace the aforesaid jaded ex-star?

RUGBY SUPPORTER

THERE were probably more paying ticket holders to the Kings match than all Afcon matches in Port Elizabeth.

SM

LUKE Watson is still very rusty and a passenger on the field for the Kings. What a difference Jacques Engelbrecht made when he replaced Watson. The crowd loved "Vleis" and he can never again play second fiddle to Watson. Hier kom 'n ding!

PETE

"POOR behaviour": couldn't agree more with Winston Riggs, it's a disgrace, it's poor sportsmanship and has no place at our stadium.

NODDY

BOOING at rugby: very bad manners by a large section of Kings supporters when opponents kick for posts, shocking sportsmanship. We all want the Kings to win, but booing is a very bad reflection on our region. Come on EP Rugby, put a campaign in place to make the Sunflower a boo-free stadium. Announce over the PA system and place ads in newspapers telling our supporters not to boo! Imagine silence when kicks are taken! Let's do it!

PF

WHAT kind of repressed Mother Grundy could possibly object to the lovely young lasses who added to the total enjoyment of Saturday's great game! Get a life! You go girls!

HIGHLIGHTS STILL SHOWN ON TUESDAY

UNBELIEVEABLE! TV3 was showing highlights of the third test against Pakistan on Tuesday February 26! This is history, not news! No flexibility/forward thinking at the SABC obviously!

BUDGET BLUES

HOW kind of the minister to give the pensioners 4c extra for food each day. Vote for who?

REPLIES TO READERS' COMMENTS

TRANSFORMATION in sport: cricket players are picked on merit. That is why RSA is No1.The selectors are doing a good job. Cricket is not BEE. Transformation starts at school. How many black players are there in the SA schools side?

WALTER

MR Nkomombini, how representative of South Africa is the PSL or Bafana Bafana? I'd much rather have a winning cricket team than a losing cricket team consisting of players that are only there because of the colour of their skins!

PATRICK, GREENBUSHES, PORT ELIZABETH

MR Nkomombini, we need stars, not black stars (or white stars for that matter). Being promising is not good enough. Leave that to the ANC government.

FRANKY SMASHCAKE

REGARDING the barrier on Kabega/Avondale roads, I agree wholeheartedly. Perfect example of "traffic calming" from our efficient traffic department.

JH

HOW pleasant it is to agree with Gordon Upton about Oscar Pistorius apologising to the Steenkamp family.

HARDLY A PASSENGER ON IPTS BUSES

IPTS buses: where are you going to get people to ride in the buses? After 8am? The poor don't go out on bus trips!

LIBRARY OPENING HOURS NOT CONSISTENT

EVERYBODY likes to point the finger at opening and closing times of the libraries in the metro. I would like to know why all the libraries except Uitenhage close at 5.30pm? Uitenhage closes at 6pm Monday to Thursday. No set times for the same service? That is a joke!

JP, UITENHAGE

NEED TRAFFIC COPS IN DURBAN ROAD DAILY

THE traffic department was in full force in Durban Road. Their presence is needed daily. Shoppers can't access the shops because most of the parking bays are blocked with furniture, etc! Leave the hawkers, clear the parking bays. Ed Gutsche is the right man to get the department in order!

MR AL

METRO SERVICE DELIVERY

IN fairness I must say that my reports of water leaks have always brought prompt attention from the water department. I'm sorry that others have had a different experience.

BARRYS, WALMER, PORT ELIZABETH

THE metro has a collection panel, but did not do much handing over. How can they expect or gauge the result? Unemployed people may be tempted to take money.

RATEPAYER

RAMPANT FRAUD AND CORRUPTION

IT seems that Madiba's dream of a rainbow nation, a better life for all has been replaced with rampant fraud and corruption, but then again, all this gets swept under the African National Carpet.

BID TO RECALL METRO MAYOR

THE same again. The metro will never be the same again with Nceba Faku and his cronies. Instead it's in the ICU.

KIBI, ETINARA

MOVES to replace Zanoxolo Wayile with a pensioner of 81 has to be a joke. Get real.

GORDON NOT PSYCHOLOGICALLY WELL

FREDDY Gordon, there is only one word to describe you – insane.
