THE ANC Ward 5 branch condemns the abuse of power displayed by the SAPS members to and the assault of the citizen of Mozambique. We say police are not supposed to use force when arresting as they are no longer a police force but a police service, and they must at all material times respect human dignity.
Our constitution is one of the best in the world. It respects human life and human dignity.
This incident is degrading to our country, and undermines our democracy and right to life. We call upon all comrades to condemn this act of barbarism and the commissioner to appoint a team to investigate this criminal act.
