NMMU will defend their title against Profiles next week after two hard-fought semifinals in the men's squash Super League at Westview on Tuesday.
Facing old rivals Londt Park, who have won the competition four times in the past six years, the NMMU side edged home 15-8, while Profiles had a similar battle against Westview, winning 15-9.
In the women's Super League, Crusaders and Londt Park will again face off for the title in their final round-robin game.
Saders, the defending champions, will take a three-point lead into the final match and while there are a few mathematical permutations, it is likely that the winners of Tuesday's match will take the title.
For NMMU men on Tuesday, young guns Jarryd Terblanche and Johan Thiel registered two important wins against old war horses Alton Senekal and Peter Ryder, and then Kyle Schwarz sealed the deal with a five-game win over Quintin Masters.
With Zane Schwarz back for Westview, they picked up two wins – Schwarz and Lance Petersen – but Profiles held sway in the middle order, with Shaun Viljoen, Dane Bigara and Garth Plaatjies getting them into the final.
Plaatjies had the closest game, being taken to five by Rian Raubenheimer.
