Mixed reaction to resignation of regional ANC boss

THERE has been mixed reaction to Nceba Faku's resignation as ANC regional chairman.

Nicknamed "Giraffe" because of his tall and slender physique, Faku is stepping down to pursue other interests.

Suspended municipal spokesman Roland Williams, who worked as Faku's mayoral spokesman, said his leadership and presence in politics would be missed. He said he had also worked with Faku when he was the ANC's regional organiser and when they both served on the ANC's local governance structures.

Former ANC regional chairman Mike Xego, however, said Faku was "a dictator" who had caused much harm to the ANC in the metro.
