Packed stadium on 'fire'

RUGBY boss Cheeky Watson says the sellout 44000 crowd that watched the Southern Kings slip to a tense 21-12 Super 15 defeat against the Sharks, will help Port Elizabeth get more Springbok rugby tests. "It was very significant that the game was a sellout," Watson said.

"Turnouts like this make a good impression when South African rugby chiefs allocate test matches.

"The Kings are the best-supported team in Super Rugby."

The capacity of the stadium had been reduced from 48000 because of giant advertising hoardings placed in the corners of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
