SOUTHERN Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons says nobody can question the commitment and character of his defiant team after they slipped to a tense 21-12 Super Rugby defeat to the star-studded Sharks on Saturday.

The sellout 44000 Nelson Mandela Bay crowd were held spellbound as the never-say-die Kings kept up the pressure and frustrated the Sharks right up until the final whistle.

"Nobody can question the commitment and character of this team. We will bring those elements to every game we play this year," Solomons promised.

As predicted the showdown developed into a "battle of the boot" between flyhalves Demetri Catrakilis (Kings) and Patrick Lambie (Sharks), who scored all the points in a tryless game.
