PEARSON ended their cricket season on a high note with a five-wicket win over Woodridge at Pearson at the weekend.
The home side sent Woodridge in to bat and their bowlers started well, taking early wickets which forced the visitors to consolidate their innings.
However, wickets fell at regular intervals and eventually Woodridge were dismissed for 137 in 42 overs. Brydon Carse had a good day with the ball, returning figures of 3/23 in eight overs.
Pearson faced a tricky spell of seven overs before lunch and weathered the storm, only losing one wicket in this period.
After lunch, Kyle Jacobs continued his solid batting with a score of 41. He was later joined by Josh Dodd, who hit an aggressive 48 as Pearson reached the target for the loss of only five wickets.
The Pearson under-15A side continued their unbeaten streak, defeating Woodridge by seven wicket, with Bradley Gouveris returning figures of 6/28 in eight overs.
Both the Pearson second team and u-14A side played at Woodridge and found the going tough, going down by one and five wickets respectively.
