Warriors captain could be fit for vital Titans game

INJURED Chevrolet Warriors cricket captain Davy Jacobs is facing a race against time to be fit for Thursday night's Ram Slam T20 Challenge match against the Knights at Axxess St George's.

Jacobs has been on the sidelines since jarring his left shoulder in the turf against the Titans in Port Elizabeth on February 22. The initial prognosis was not good and it was thought he would be out of action for the remainder of the season.

However, the injury has been responding well to treatment and the skipper will have a fitness test today to determine his readiness, although he says his chances of playing look bright. "I'm going to ... see. But the way it feels at the moment just by resting, feels a lot better than it did last week. I think I should be okay for Thursday," Jacobs said yesterday.
