Music duo release hot new video

12 March 2013
Tremaine van Aardt

POPULAR The Godfather Supreme DJ Chad "Spectrum" Smith and Lisa "Lisa Love" Draai have wrapped up their very first music video.

And to add to the mix, their fans can get a taste of what to expect by watching behind-the-scenes footage posted online.

The video is due to be launched on Good Friday, March 29.

Smith said music label Rockstar Media were excited by their unique mix of house and jazz music after seeing them perform at the Korsten night club in December.

"Lisa and I only started working together in April last year. But we have learnt how to fuse her lyrics and vocals with my knowledge of beats," Smith said.

"People can see the behind-the-scenes footage on YouTube and Facebook by searching for DJ Spectrum featuring Lisa Love's Only You [behind the scenes]."

Draai, who wrote the lyrics in her room, said the song had received a lot more attention than she anticipated.

"The storyline is about a girl seeking forgiveness and a new beginning with a guy she betrayed," she said.

"The aim of the video is for us to get exposure by creating a platform to promote the track to a broader market and be aired on well-known TV stations such as Bay TV, Channel O and MTV Base if all goes well."

The full music video will premiere at The Godfather Supreme where an instrumental soul house version of Only You will also be performed.

"We have to bring it back to where it all began," Smith said.

"We have both progressed from our humble introductions to music, playing and singing in church as children so we are inviting Port Elizabeth to join us for what is certain to be a Good Friday at The Godfather."
