'Aida' not just another school production

SO MANY schools today are offering our young people the wonderful cultural opportunity of music, theatre and dance.

How fortunate they are, compared to the almost entirely academic or sport-orientated schools of days gone by ... where learning to play the piano or guitar was about all we were offered.

And the cast of the Theodor Herzl production of Aida are grabbing it with both hands!

Under the direction of Robin Williams, who with her team, has once again pulled it out of the bag, Aida was just wonderful!

It had stunning, vibrant costumes, catchy choreography and a simple but stately set.

However, the kudos go to the cast and in particular the four leads: Sarah Morton, Bianca Bosch, Gino Lee and Litha Hewit- Coleman.

Wow, what incredible talent! They were just so beautiful to listen to – from their solos to their duets to the four of them together.

Their harmonies were beautiful and so mature.

This is not just another school production, it is so much more ... and what a joy to see how much amazing talent we have growing in Port Elizabeth.
