ACTRESS Anne Hathaway may not have won universal style plaudits for the pale rose Prada dress she wore to the Academy Awards but she is normally a style trendsetter.
The satirical Twitter account, @HathawayNipple, appeared almost immediately after the best supporting actress award-winner said on the red carpet that she'd chosen the dress just three hours before she left for the ceremony. By last week it had close to 5500 followers, despite only a few dozen tweets.
Perhaps she would have been safer in a little black dress, as shown above. After all, with a slender figure – albeit a little less skeletal than for her Oscar winning role in Les Miserables – she is one of few women who can pull off a peplum.
Worn in the right proportion and cut, a peplum dress can look extremely lady-like but, large ladies be warned: this look is not for you, even in black.
