14 March 2013

ROBOT demonstrations, explosions, kitchen chemistry, and climbing walls are just some of the activities on offer at Scifest Africa in Uitenhage.

In a first of its kind, the Science and Technology Centre in Uitenhage has been selected as a satellite venue for Scifest, an annual festival held in Grahamstown.

The Uitenhage event, which started yesterday and ends on Friday next week, includes more than 80 interactive exhibitions and daily demonstrations by Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) engineering students and workshops for pupils and teachers.

Entry to the festival ranges between R10 and R15 per exhibition or demonstration.
