Two rangers gored by rhino

14 March 2013
Two game rangers are in a serious condition after they were gored by three black rhinos in a KwaZulu-Natal game park on Thursday (14/03/2013), paramedics said.

It happened in the Hluhluwe area in northern KwaZulu-Natal, said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.

Ezemvelo Wildlife spokesman Musa Mntambo said the two rangers were patrolling when they were attacked by three black rhinos.

One was injured on his left thigh and the other on his buttocks, Mntambo said.

Both men were stabilised on the scene and transported to a Richards Bay hospital. - Sapa
