Golden Heroes aim to continue upward surge in weekend double-header

15 March 2013
Mogan Segadavan

GOLDEN Heroes, who head the log on goal difference, will fancy their chances of picking up maximum points in their double-header in the Wafa Marina Sea Salt Premier League at the weekend.

They play Real Madrid tomorrow and Seaview United on Sunday.

Although it is early in the season, both Madrid and Seaview look set to finish as also-rans. However, Madrid cannot be taken lightly after their 7-0 drubbing of FC Moscow last week.

Peace United, who are level on points with Heroes, have a more difficult assignment.

They play third-placed African Aces tomorrow and defending champions Airport Valley United on Sunday. On Sunday, Aces play Teenagers, who beat Walmer Stars 2-0 in their last encounter.

UNLESS there is a huge upset, Shining Stars will retain their position at the top of the Zwifa Marina Sea Salt Premier League log tomorrow. They played Zwide Pirates, tied at the bottom of the log.

Gal City, who are five points adrift, have a difficult match against Golden Aces.

JOINT-logleaders Mbabala Young Stars and Manchester United will continue their battle for supremacy in the Nodefa VW Community Trust Premier League this weekend. Stars, who lead on goal difference, play struggling Kabah United Brothers, while Manchester have a slightly more difficult task against City Style.

BUSH Bucks and Real White City should continue their tussle at the top of the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League table this weekend. Bucks play Roaring Tigers tomorrow, while City take on City Lads. Red City, who are lurking close behind the frontrunners, play Dodgers on Sunday.

RUNAWAY logleaders Mustangs should consolidate their position at the top of the Safa Regional Women's League when they play PE College at the NMMU Missionvale campus on Sunday.
