Cunningham not free yet

15 March 2013
Plea negotiations in the case against Brent Cunningham, who allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend and two friends in December, failed on Friday (15/03/2013).

Cunningham, 21, has been in jail for almost three months. He was denied bail on February 7 after the court ruled he was a danger to society.

Due to the massive public outrage triggered by the case, the court also feared for his safety should he be released from custody.

Cunningham will remain in custody for now and his case will proceed to trial on March 28, reports Kathryn Kimberly for The Herald.
