WITH time running out before the scheduled start of the Splash Festival, companies that usually provide services to it are worried that the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has still not hired an organiser for the event.

Twelve attempts to contact economic development and recreational services acting director Zolile Siswana and acting director of beaches, resorts and events management Seki Mandaba by telephone failed yesterday. They also failed to respond to SMSes.
Service providers said they needed an answer before the end of this week if they were to be ready for the event, which is supposed to start on Good Friday.
