Pearson High wins premier tennis title

19 March 2013
THE Pearson High tennis team have again achieved excellent results in the Port Elizabeth schools leagues, winning the premier 1A title for the fourth time in five years.

Pearson took the title league by winning 72 sets and only conceding 12. Collegiate came second with 46 sets and Framesby third (44 sets).

Pearson also played against leading Midlands school Cradock High at the Gerrie Berner Tournament in Paarl and won narrowly.

Adding another feather to their caps was their triumph over Kingswood in a recent inter-schools encounter. Kingswood are the strongest tennis school in Albany, which makes Pearson arguably the top tennis team in the Eastern Province this season.

Their results in the 1A premier league were (home and away): beat Collegiate 12-2 and 14-0; beat Woodridge 14-0 and 14-0; beat Framesby 11-3 and drew 7-7.
