Cop held after road-rage attack

THE shooting of a motorist in a Knysna road- rage attack, allegedly by a policeman, has been condemned by the DA and the ANC.

Malamoela Bennett, 31, was shot in the chest on Saturday after he reversed his bakkie off the pavement and into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

He is in a stable condition in the George Hospital.

Southern Cape police spokes- woman Captain Bernadine Steyn said yesterday a 42-year-old policeman was arrested in Fitchard Street, Knysna, shortly after the shooting.
