'Priority' Splash to go ahead

20 March 2013

WITH nine days left before the Easter weekend, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has reissued the tender for the Splash Festival. The closing date for tenders is Monday, leaving planners with three days to organise the R1-million event.

Event management companies said earlier this month at least six months were needed to organise a decent festival.

The festival is one of the biggest events on the city's tourism calendar.

The tender was again advertised in The Herald earlier this week after the municipality first did so in January. Despite the shortened timeframe, economic development and recreational services director Zolile Siswana said the festival would take place.

And I am willing to take a bet on it that somewhere out there there is an Events Managing Company who has been tipped off and has already done the preperation and knows that they are going to be awarded the tender and has everything in place already, and this new tender is a WHOLE LOT OF PULLING THE WOOL OVER EVERYBODIES EYES, I am sorry but I do not trust this. I mean a whole three days to organise that size festival ????????
