AT THE game between the Southern Kings and Waikato Chiefs on Friday at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, I was shocked to see the behaviour of the crowd. When the Chiefs ran out at the start of the game the crowd booed at them, when they scored a try or a conversion the crowd booed them again.
Is this how the Friendly City that is hosting its first Super Rugby season acts towards our visitors? A group of New Zealanders sitting a few rows in front of me just shook their heads in disbelief, yet the New Zealanders cheered the Kings.
You don't see in other stadiums, especially the Australian or New Zealand hosts booing our South African teams over there. I'm sorry to say, but with the attitude the crowd has in the Bay I hope this will be the last Super Rugby season to hit the Bay.
