A MOUNT Pleasant-based mother got the idea to transform children's artwork into a plush toy from her five-year-old daughter and plans to create a new business venture with this.
"I am always looking for new things to try and would say my children inspired me to start Scribbelz," Chantelle Waudby said.
"I had seen pictures on the internet where people fabric-paint a child's drawing, but it wasn't until Cayla came home from school one day and said her drawing wasn't as pretty as those of her friends that the penny dropped.
"I replied: 'Sweetpea, you know what? Your drawing is awesome and I am going to make you a doll that looks just like it'.
"When I gave the doll to Cayla and saw the amazement on her face, I knew I was onto something."
She started early last month, planning to focus on "little designers". "We aren't all brilliant artists but when your little one sees their artwork come to life, their view changes and they see how brilliant their art really is."
