PROBLEMS WITH MEDICAL SCHEMES
I USED the Council for Medical Aid Schemes for my complaint and was given a complaint number. That was the last I heard from them. That was six months ago. The dispute has been resolved but not by them.
A FRIEND of mine also needs an urgent operation (gastric bypass), but must pay cash. Why?
STOP certain pharmacies from giving toiletries for patients on medical aid. I can vouch for this.
WENT to watch the Acoustic Storm being cooked up at the Music Kitchen. It was more like a watery soup with musicians choosing to indulge in a feeble presentation of their own compositions that will keep the pigeons off the roof for weeks.
STAY OUT OF OUR SUBURB
IT is an old trick of prostitutes to grab the men's wallets or cellphones. I see it all the time. To these men who come to Central to do their dirt here, let it be a lesson to you. Stay out of our suburb.
SLABBERT BOOTED OUT OF DA
STANFORD Slabbert booted out as a matter of principle: I as a DA voter am also principled. You are rapidly losing respect.
NOT voting for the DA because Slabbert made a second mistake is not a good enough reason unless you like poor traffic matters, no street lights, rampant waste of money, poor maintenance of electricity, water, refuse and entertainment infrastructure leading to disease and filth, and loss of revenue, etc. Vote DA so we can run this metro properly.
WHAT I feared has happened! The DA is losing its traditional white and coloured voters to gain the odd black vote. Please wake up!
LET'S start a petition to get Slabbert reinstated. How can forwarding an e-mail get you fired? I am not voting for the DA unless he gets his job back.
WELL Lawrence Troon, you must be happy again as you got something to write about even if it was just to get your sixpence in about the DA.
THE ANC really needs to make up its mind. First it calls for Slabbert's head and now that the DA has dealt the ultimate sanction by "booting him" from the party, ANC councillor Lawrence Troon criticises it for making Slabbert a sacrifice. More political grandstanding to provide comic relief on a Monday morning!
IGNORED AT POLICE STATION
WALMER police station has really shocking service. I'm nine months pregnant, but they look right past a white person, who has been waiting for 10 minutes, and help a black couple who just walked in after us. How can you respect the police if they don't give a damn?
NO CENSUS THIS
IN the area of Bethelsdorp Ext 31, 32, 33, 34 and 36 there are people visiting, claiming they doing a census, but they are from the DA coming and telling people about a census to put them on their membership. This is very low and criminal.

REPLIES TO READERS' COMMENTS
I AGREE with DE Francis regarding race walking. The lifting is obvious in The Herald picture.
SOPHIA (August 16), you have got your lines crossed. If you read my SMS of August 8, it is very clear. Nowhere do I say what you say I said. Someone calling himself or herself a sinner saved by grace responded positively to my SMS on August 12 and those are his or her words you are subscribing to me.
ATHEISTS are normal, intelligent folk who merely don't believe in your particular God, Calvin. Just like you too don't believe in all the other gods. We just don't believe in any of them. Is that so difficult to grasp?
POLICE DO PAY FOR TRANSPORT
POLICE do pay for transport. Get your facts straight. They do pay. Must I fax you a pay slip that shows it?

HOSPITAL REFERS BURNT BOY TO CLINIC
PEOPLE die in SA hospitals every day. We are fighting a losing battle against a disgusting medical health system!
I AM horrified to read about your experience at Livingstone, you have many people behind you.
I WOULD rather be a stray animal, at the SPCA, than a patient at Livingstone casualty.
DOES that happen at your non-private hospitals in South Africa? Sorry.
YENGENI 'OVER BLOOD-ALCOHOL LIMIT'
PLEASE punish Tony Yengeni for his misdemeanours as he is sending the wrong message to the youngsters and drivers of SA. We have enough crime that goes unpunished. Please don't praise drunken offenders.

IMPRESSIVE OPENING TO TEST
WHAT a wonderful opening to the Australia-New Zealand rugby match on Saturday. Two magnificent national anthems sung beautifully, followed by the stirring haka.
THE dream of being an educated lady one day has just passed way. Seeing the youth of my age progressing in life, others are still finishing their studies at NMMU and in other schools, it is making my heart very sad and sore. I don't know how will I ever get a way to move forward or go back to school, while I still have to work as a security guard to support my family and to try to get a registration fee for my two young sisters to go to school. Seeing the car of my dreams is just a waste of time because no education, no success.
