CALLIES and NMMU Madibaz will be playing for pride when they clash in a Pefa premier league fixture at the campus this evening.
Following their 3-2 loss to Motherwell Academy after being 2-1 up on Sunday, Callies officials have conceded that they cannot win the championship for a record seventh time with a nine-point leeway to make up. Defeat tonight will see them slip to third place behind the students.
Meanwhile, Central Acemates should continue their march towards their first Pefa Premier league title when they play Forresters at the EP Command field on Saturday.
However, they should not underestimate Forresters after their remarkable win over Motherwell Academy in a Pefa quarterfinal match.
Forresters clawed their way back from 3-0 down to level the scores, forcing a penalty shootout which they won.
On Friday evening, Hearts and Motherwell Academy will be playing for pride when they clash at the Lawson Brown High School field. Neither side can win the championship from their current positions. Motherwell, who had mixed fortunes over the weekend, won 2-1 in the first round.
Tonight: NMMU v Callies.
Friday: Hearts v Motherwell.
Saturday: Forresters v Central Acemates, PE City v Warriors, NMB Municipality v Highbury, Kwadwesi All Stars v PE Defence.
