STUNNED ex-pupils of a highly respected former Eastern Cape teacher were shocked yesterday at the news of his alleged involvement in an international child pornography ring.
The former principal was arrested along with five other professionals in a sensational child pornography bust which played out across South Africa at the weekend in tandem with investigations in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, western Europe and Australasia.
He cannot be identified until he has pleaded to the charges.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale said the man had been released on R1000 bail after appearing in court in Mpumalanga.
