THE culpable homicide case against a motorist accused of running over a pedestrian on the Seaview Road last year was postponed in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Ruben Botha, 27, is accused of running Mpumelelo Apleni, 19, in May last year. He was formally charged with culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to ascertain the victim's injuries and failing to render assistance to the victim. His attorney, James Riley, requested a postponement until this morning to consult with his client. – Shaun Gillham
