THE ANC in the Eastern Cape has summoned former education MEC Mkhangeli Matomela today to explain reports that he is the leader of a newly formed political party – because he believes the ANC is part of the anti-Christ movement.
Weekend reports said Matomela, who is a member of the provincial legislature (MPL), had been working on the formation of a new political party for the past year – while pocketing his R1-million a year salary as an ANC MPL.
The party, named the Kingdom Governance Movement (KGM), was launched in the provincial capital Bhisho last week with the promise of offering faith-based leadership.
Eastern Cape provincial secretary Oscar Mabuyane said yesterday if the reports were a "true reflection of his views", then Matomela was in contravention of the ANC constitution.
