A PORT Elizabeth policeman was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening to jail a motorist for drunken driving if she did not pay him a bribe.
A second police officer was arrested a short while later for allegedly falsifying documents in cases ranging from arson to robbery so that they would not go ahead for prosecution.
Police are investigating if money changed hands to "make the dockets disappear".
Warrant Officer Luyanda Zweni, 47, of Humewood police station, was arrested yesterday morning in connection with the bribery case.
Gelvandale Constable Ntuthuzelo "Joyce" Mdondolo, 34, was arrested about an hour later in connection with the fake withdrawal statements.
Zweni and Mdondolo both appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court yesterday.
