A MAN charged with the murder of Port Elizabeth policeman Sergeant Willem Pretorius appeared briefly in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Xolisa Mboneli, 27, who was arrested on Friday, is facing charges of murder and attempted murder. He was arrested by members of the Organised Crime Unit.
Pretorius was found dead in his car near Uitenhage on August 15 after he was reported missing.
Mboneli, who appeared before magistrate John Montgomery, kept his head bowed during much of the proceedings, and asked for an application to be made to Legal Aid for legal representation.
