JEFFREYS BAY'S Emma Smith claimed first place in the U20 girls division at the third event of the Billabong Junior Series, presented by BOS, in Cape Town over the weekend.
Smith was a firm favourite in the section, and it came as no big surprise that she took the honours with relative ease from her competitors.
The young teenager put on a brilliant show for the eager spectators.
Fans could not stop commenting on her performance, both at the beach and on social media, describing her surfing as "shredding with style that would put many guys to shame".
"So stoked! Just won the Billabong Pro junior in Cape Town! Yeow! Thank you Lord," the Billabong team rider tweeted shortly after her win.
Other top junior surfers from the Eastern Cape also did not disappoint, with huge turns and shorebreak punts the order of the day. All Jeffreys Bay representatives made their finals.
The Billabong Junior Series will host its final event at Seal Point in Cape St Francis from September 21 to 23.
