FORMER Bay ANC regional chairman Mike Xego yesterday called on the police unit, the Hawks, to investigate and prosecute those implicated in the explosive Pikoli forensic report.
The report, published by The Herald on Monday, contains allegations that Bay taxi bosses blew millions of rands meant for the city's new bus system on inflated salaries, bonuses, unauthorised loans and donations.
The report details how the city pumped R18.8-million into taxi association Laphum'ilanga in 2010, with at least R6.7-million of that amount allegedly being squandered.
It also said senior managers in the municipality were allegedly negligent and reckless with public funds.
