EXPLOSIVE PIKOLI REPORT
"BAY'S squandered millions": this is the waste of time and money report, it's taking us to nowhere. Please Oom Ben Fihla and the city manager, we are waiting to be employed as contract workers. We cannot even get loans from the banks.
THE Vusi Pikoli report on NMBM millions wasted: those implicated in wrongdoing will receive, as usual, the golden handshake. The only way to deal with this mess is to start with the leader of this country, who the ANC is always protecting no matter what the cost because it sees itself as his guardian angel.
IT'S with concern I note that the Pikoli report highlights certain individuals, but fails to identify others still in office as cooperative directors.
RATEPAYERS are not role players in the metro, it seems. You vote and these corrupt clowns steal our money. An all-party citizens' forum must scrutinise all contracts before they are awarded.
VUSI Pikoli has exposed the rats' nest. Who suddenly emerges, Mr Faku! When is this man going to bow out when it comes to interfering in council matters?
"BAY'S millions squandered": that's according to Vusi Pikoli's report. It is nothing new. What about the Kabuso report where Nceba Faku and his cronies were fingered in dodgy dealings with business people? Were any of them held accountable by the ANC top brass including Jacob Zuma? No. The same applies to the people shown up in Pikoli's report because this rot all started at Polokwane and something needs to be done, things are getting worse.
NMMM ALLOWS UITENHAGE TO DETERIORATE
THE ANC-controlled NMMM has dragged the once-beautiful garden town of Uitenhage to its own level by turning it into a garbage-choked cesspool. Just what did it think would happen when it did not renew the contract of the company responsible for removing the bins at the town's dump sites?

RUAN PIENAAR A LIABILITY
IF South Africa want to win any trophies, they need to get rid of Ruan Pienaar now! He is a liability!
WHY NO COVERAGE OF RACE?
WHAT a pity there was no coverage of the Trans Baviaans mountain bike race. Many local riders took part and the race ended in very trying weather conditions in Jeffreys Bay.
OUR apologies for not covering the race. This is the kind of event we strive to cover in our newspapers. Having said that, perhaps next time the organisers could inform local media of their events. I have spoken to colleagues in three other major media institutions in the metro and not one of us was informed of the event beforehand. – The Herald sports editor Alvin Reeves
NAUDE'S COMMENT SPOT ON
PIET Naude's bang on the button. Ubuntu means amnesty to the politically connected. Sickening.
PEDOPHILES SHOULD BE JAILED FOR LIFE
WHAT kind of sick scum can get sexual gratification from watching or having sex with a child or toddler? They should be given the death penalty or at least life in C-Max with no possibility of parole. There is nothing mentally wrong with them, they are just perverts!
FUNNIER THAN THE CARTOON
THE photo of the weeping Dina Pule and the two laughing women on either side of her (August 23) was funnier than Mark Wiggett's cartoon on that day.
DIRECTORS' INCREASES CONTROVERSIAL
SO much anger about Roland Williams's salary increase. Wonder why? And nothing is said about the other directors of different colours already enjoying the benefits. Why is that?
ROLAND Williams's money grab is as laughable as it is ridiculous. Comparing his position to say the director of the electricity department is broken down as follows: DEP needs relevant degree, has a staff of 30 engineers and technicians in various fields of study and 500 other staff working 24/7. He has an income of, I guess, R800-million and capital budget of a few R100-millions. On the other hand Williams's degree is not relevant, he has fewer staff and a smaller budget than an electricity department principal technician on grade 14. Many metro staff are fuming after waiting decades for the job evaluation committee to investigate their cases.
ROLAND Williams: well said Ed. You have put in writing what the majority of us in PE think of this man. His gall and attitude amazes me.
LETTER from Ed Gutsche: well done! Tell it like it is!
G***** BUSINESS OWNER
WHO IS IN CHARGE OF TRAINING?
PAGE 5 of The Herald on Monday flights an advert for pre-school job training. It sounds great. Who does the training of the applicants? Who is in charge? No company name or registration number is given.
MAYOR MORE THAN A LAME DUCK
NO Ben Fihla, you aren't a lame duck, you're a dead duck on a hefty salary!
CONCENTRATE ON YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
LET us focus seriously on youth unemployment to avoid the consequences thereof. The number of unemployed young people is growing rapidly and there seems no provisions are made to scale down this social problem. I think it's high time the government starts its drive seriously, that of providing adequate skills while the business sector supports the efforts made by the government.

RACE DOES MATTER
IVAN Pillay (SARS acting commissioner) apologises for "racist" remarks and it will be accepted. Had that been a white official his head would have been called for!
