WITH reference to the story, "Nine awarded R35000 bursary" (August 26), nine previously disadvantaged students get R35000 per annum bursaries. What? How can a student be previously disadvantaged – they weren't even born when the "apartheid government" was in power?
Come on, hasn't this gone far enough? What about today's disadvantaged kids who are discriminated against?
They weren't born when apartheid was about, but they have to pay for the "sins" of there forefathers.
Try forgetting the racism, and let the children who deserve a break get help, no matter what colour, race, or religion. It's not about big companies using the system to get brownie points with big brother.
