IT'S back to school for public servants.
Everyone working in the public sector will now have to go to a special school of government to improve efficiency and learn how to treat members of the public with dignity.
All professions, including medical doctors, engineers and accountants, as well as cleaners, police and everyone else working in the public sector, will be obliged to go to the school.
This was said by Public Service and Administration Minister Lindiwe Sisulu at the launch of the Public Service Charter in Midrand yesterday.
All public servants will undergo a one-year compulsory induction course, which will also be available through e-learning.
The length of other courses will vary according to the curriculum.
