NELSON Mandela Bay Municipality's new interim boss, Mpilo Mbambisa, has advertised three top municipal management jobs, including an executive director for corporate services post, a day before council is set to debate his proposal for a new staff organogram.
However, the organogram for senior managers approved by council in December makes provision for a chief corporate support services officer, not an executive director.
Posts for a municipal manager and chief financial officer were also advertised.
Mbambisa is hoping to get council's support today to overturn its earlier decision to overhaul the city's 10 departments by hiring two deputy city managers and splitting management into four groups.
He also wants the advertisements in May for 16 senior manager positions set aside. He wants a new senior management structure that makes provision for one deputy municipal manager and eight executive directors, who all have to report to the municipal manager.
