THE ANC officially kicked off its election campaign in Nelson Mandela Bay yesterday, with thousands of volunteers ready to hit the streets to garner votes for next year's poll.
"People say we will lose the metro, but the ANC defends like a Springbok," ANC national executive committee member Zizi Kodwa said yesterday.
"When we think we are under attack, we become more united than ever.
"When the communities are protesting, they are simply saying to us, 'ANC you can do better'.
"Come next year's election, we will be attacking like a bulldog," he said.
Kodwa, the main speaker at the launch, was flanked by ANC parliamentary chief whip Stone Sizani, MP Cedric Frolick and Eastern Cape MPL Tamara Xhanti.
