WESTERING bounced back strongly from an opening loss to Framesby to win their remaining three matches at the Pearson Cricket Festival at the weekend.
Jamial Kafaar starred in the 16-run loss in the Twenty20 game against Framesby, taking 2/12 and hitting 38 not out.
Westering must have felt they were in with a chance after limiting Framesby to 109/7, but they could only manage 93/6 in reply.
They then won a keen contest with Alexander Road in their second T20game. Batting first, Alex made 104/7 and Westering passed their target with four wickets in hand thanks to Zaakir Potgieter (26 not out) and Aston Smith (24 not out). Westering proved too strong for Marlow in the declaration match. Offie Howard made 86 and Irshaad Potgieter 77 as they soared to 292/7. Morshan Norman led their bowling charge with 4/20 as Marlow slumped to 90.
In their final match, Westering had a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Priory after dismissing them for 88, Darren Simons taking 4/20. Storm Chambel top-scored with 38 as they coasted to victory.
