NUMSA general secretary Irvin Jim and suspended teachers' union Sadtu president Thobile Ntola are due to address a workshop and lecture to students on the National Development Plan (NDP) in Port Elizabeth today.
The lecture, at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University's Missionvale campus, comes as Numsa's application to have Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi's suspension overturned was postponed in the Johannesburg High Court yesterday after an application by opposing unions to intervene was granted.
Appearing for the intervening unions, Advocate Craig Watt- Pringle SC said it had been agreed that the application be postponed to allow the unions time to file affidavits.
He said the matter was likely to be set down for October 8.
The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) is expected to file an opposing affidavit by October 2.
