TWO men and a woman appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court yesterday following two separate raids in which perlemoen worth a total of R1.5-million was confiscated in New Brighton this week.
Andile Mfengu, 48, Garth Volstruis, 27, and Diana Uithaler, 24, were released on R3500 bail each.
Mfengu was arrested on Monday night after he was allegedly found in possession of 23 bags of frozen perlemoen worth about R500000.
Volstruis and Uithaler were arrested on Tuesday after they were allegedly caught with 81 bags of perlemoen valued at more than R1-million.
Both cases were postponed to October 17 for further investigation. – Kathryn Kimberley
