THE family of a martial arts star who was shot and killed in Uitenhage two months ago are struggling to come to terms with his death and have vowed to attend all the murder suspect's court appearances "until justice is served".
Khaalid Gamieldien, 22, of Gibbon Street, Jubilee Park Central, was shot in the head on Friday July 12, after allegedly responding to a call for help from his 17-year-old twin brothers, Muneer and Muntheer, following a spat with youths at a party.
He died the following day.
Leonardo Petersen, 38, of Strelitzia Park in Uitenhage, was arrested in connection with the murder and later released on R500 bail. Petersen's case was postponed yesterday in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court.
