WHY NO PICTURE OF JASON WOOD?
WHY has Jason Wood's photo not been shown? He has to be identified so others can see who they dealing with. It's shocking people can't see his picture. He should be put behind bars again. Giving him a suspended sentence will not help as he will carry on like he has done.
THE Herald is not permitted to take photos in court. Although a photographer has attended every court session in a bid to get a picture of Wood as he walks out of court, he has evaded photographers. – The editor
LIBRARY STAFF STRIKE
PERHAPS the library staff could spend their idle hours disinfecting their book covers as I have to do with all the books as soon as I get home.
JPS, of Uitenhage, the Linton Grange Library closes at 1pm on a Friday and is not open on a Saturday. Different libraries seem to have different times. It is confusing. Who can tell us why?
JPS, libraries should also fall under retail as you are dealing with the public (customers). I work 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturdays. Also alternative Sundays (as overtime). I don't get anything near what you earn! Who do you think packs the shelves? Grateful to have employment.
DA NOT ATTENDING COUNCIL MEETINGS
ANTI-DA chirpers: Huds, you say DA councillors must grow backbones but can't even sign your name to your SMS. Barry de Klerk, where are the DA not making an effort to get right decisions made? AB, where is the DA anti everything? You say the DA chirps from the periphery, but you do exactly the same. Easy to be armchair critics. Viva DA!
"GROW backbones, DA councillors": Barry de Klerk, Huds and AB, please call me on 083-577-9694 or SMS your number and I will call you. You may just be surprised to hear the full story.
LEON DE VILLIERS
THE DA needs to show the masses what it plans to do to stop the decline of Port Elizabeth! Talking won't solve anything if you can't then get in young blood with fresh ideas.
REPLIES TO COMMENTS ON OTHER TOPICS
MC, to be paid R3000 per month is absolute exploitation and an insult to every teacher earning that. Because the education department is dragging its heels, the schools know this and can dictate what they want to pay and not what a qualified, dedicated teacher should be earning.
WELL said, Lolly. When Roland Williams opens his mouth it is always a lot of c**p.
IN response to the reader who said all the money from the Color Run was going to charity, well it's definitely not all! It's just a very small portion that's going to charity! And one wonders what charity and where? If the organisers really are going to give to charity, then they should give in each city that had the Color Run!
WHINE whine. Leave the airport alone. Would you rather travel 10 minutes or a hour to collect visitors? If you don't like the noise, move. The Ironman is more irritating than the planes and I have being living here for 17 years.
VIWE Sidali, you say that the current ANC leadership is equal to the task. No, that is not so, it is a total disaster because this current leadership cannot be trusted. Viwe, your comrade, Julius Malema, said Jacob Zuma's election was a mistake, but you must be sick in your head to think the ANC can deliver.
INCIDENT HAPPENED NEARLY FIVE YEARS AGO
THIS watercress incident happened nearly five years ago. Is this not sensational reporting?
ORGANIC veggie headline: why no dates when reporting about an article written in the medical journal that occurred nearly five years ago?
YOUR organic watercress headline is sensational reporting. This incident happened years ago and has only now been published as a case study in the SA Medical Journal. Public apologies need to be made to all Garden Route farm stalls and organic growers.
ACCORDING to information received by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, there have been two recent infections reported in December. The case study was published in the South African Medical Journal's September 2013 issue. It is on record that the last reported infections prior to the two December cases was in 1964. – Estelle Ellis, The Herald health reporter
WIN YOUR MATCH, EP KINGS
EP Kings, win your match very well today and go on to the field with the confidence and mind frame that you will win. Cheeky Watson, please do everything in your power to make sure that your good players do not leave EP Kings as you cannot afford to lose more good players to other clubs.
ADMIT FAILURE, ANC
"CUBANS to help with water crisis": the ANC has once again proved that it is incapable to govern. It is beyond it to admit failure, by re-employing white local engineers that the ANC removed for political reasons. I trust the outside world is taking note.
THERE will never be any stability in the running of the metro municipality unless the whole IPTS charade is suspended and investigated. If we go by what is reported on this mega project it looks like there are many politicians from the ruling party who have a finger in the pie. Furthermore, the NMBM does not have the internal engineering capacity to drive this project which in any case will never work in this metro because of its size. It is also troubling to see the messing up of our road network system on something that will never work.
BEWARE OF CHILD TRAFFICKING
CHANGING the adoption laws will promote child trafficking.
