WELL done, Carol-Ann Kelleher, on being "man" enough to apologise. Well done, Robyn Greyling, on the way you handled the situation. One day you two should get together and build on your passions.
CAROL-ANN Kelleher's private views are irrelevant. She should be professional enough to be objective during interviews.
I AGREE with Carol-Ann Kelleher. Dolphins don't belong in captivity.
SECURE SETTLERS PARK
"THUGS return to Settlers Park": Captain Jarvis complains that the community continuously use Settlers Park. Instead of putting up warning signs, why does the local municipality not spend half a percent of their fat salary increases to protect the public area? This is one of PE's few attractions left for visitors to the city. We are told to stay away instead of fixing the problem. Ratepayers are obviously not worth protecting.
SETTLERS Park: is Cpt Jarvis for real when he states "we still find that the community continuously use the park". It belongs to the city, not the thugs. Do your job, police crime areas!
WELL DONE, NMMU MADIBAZ!
WELL done to NMMU Madibaz for reaching the final of the Varsity Football Challenge. Bring it home, coach Wasa and the boys. Great news for the Bay.
VOTE FOR ANC IS VOTE FOR CORRUPTION
ANC delegation at NMMU: students just need to read The Herald Thursday's lead story and editorial to know that a vote for the ANC is a vote for corruption. Surely university students are not as stupid as that.
SEXCAPADES STORY DISGUSTING
"DAILY laugh: Drunk man's sexcapades": disgusting, distasteful smut, Herald! You are the "hooligan of the day". How can you put that on the front page when children read this paper? Editor, hang you head in shame!
"DAILY laugh: Drunk man's sexcapades" front page news, madam editor? I think not! Such "smut" is not newsworthy at all.
LYNETTE AXCELL, PORT ELIZABETH
ALL I would like to know is why you think that a drunk in Wales humping a Land Rover qualifies to be on our newspaper's front page? That is pathetic in my eyes.
YOUR newspaper disgusts me. You have lost a reader. To put such a filthy daily laugh on the front page shows exactly what kind of journalists we are dealing with. I doubt you will print this, you are too lily livered.
"DAILY laugh: Drunk man's sexcapades" was smutty, stupid and not funny. The Herald can surely do better than this.
ORGANIC VEGETABLE SCARE
DEAN Petzer (September 12), the public have a right to know that their expensive organic salad could make them very ill or kill them! To The Herald, keep on keeping us informed!
SAINSBURY'S in England have withdrawn their watercress products after 15 people fell ill with E-coli infections! Moral of the story: don't eat watercress.
POLICE SHORT OF VEHICLES
IF police vehicles only did policing duty and no shopping, no mum's taxis, no moving building material, etc, there would be no shortage of vehicles in the Eastern Cape.
PLENTY OF WEALTH AROUND
I READ that Numsa's boffins are criticising the NDP because it makes the whites wealthy and leaves the blacks poor. Tell me again how much Patrice Motsepe, Tokyo Sexwale, JuJu, Cyril Ramaphosa, Ramphela Mamphele and others are worth, please. And how long it took them to make their fortunes? Oh and please let's not forget the prez's private residence!
HAPPINESS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT
THE statistician general is an idiot. Hypertension and heart disease are caused by genetics and lifestyle, not because people are "not happy".
IT'S no longer a threat, Nwabisa Makunga! It's a downfall, if not suicide. They are busy opening holes in a sinking ship.
NOT ALL CENSURED
ADULTERY by Zwelinzima Vavi leads to his suspension, but not for Jacob Zuma. How so?
DA WON'T ATTEND MEETINGS
WELL done to Absa and Coega for being "brave" enough to present ideas on how to boost small business. Pity the same cannot be said about the spineless DA. Come on guys, Africa's not for sissies! And you want to earn the right to lead! Eish.
LEON de Villiers and rest of the "fearless" DA leaders, I suspect your female leaders in Cape Town would have the gumption not to run scared of attending council meetings.
STUDY THE SCRIPTURES
WHEN last did the present leaders of our nation study the Scriptures and live by them, if ever. I say this because it is extremely difficult to reconcile this with the corruption and general lawlessness and wickedness that has flourished on their watch. Vital pillars have been removed. Their latest is to propose to remove parental discipline. Proverbs says withhold not correction from the child for if you beat him with the rod he shall not die. You shall beat him with the rod and shall deliver his soul from hell. This is not the same as abuse. Government, please consider the word of truth when you make laws to govern God's creation.
