IT was sweet revenge for Bloom Callies on Sunday when they beat Glenville 4-1 in a penalty shootout in the semifinals of the Nafa Mala Moodaley KO Cup competition.
On Saturday Glenville thrashed Callies 4-0 to clinch the Nafa Premier League title with two matches to spare.
In the semifinals Glenville looked set to advance to the finals, and a possible league and cup double, when Ricardo Holster gave them an early lead.
With the wind making playing conditions difficult, Sheneil Benn equalised for Callies minutes before the break.
With neither mastering the conditions the match went into the dreaded shootout, and for once Glenville's powerful strike force let them down.
Callies, who have never won the competition, will face West Lake in the finals after the Salt Lake outfit thrashed Park United 4-0.
"We did it for the impoverished people of Salt Lake, where unemployment is at 90%," elated West Lake public relations officer Eugene Fortuin said.
"We now have to finish the job."
West Lake last won the cup almost 20 years ago.
The finals will be played at the Track on October 6.
MILAN Stars scored an easy 2-0 win over Manchester United in a Mofa Buildit Premier League game on Saturday.
Both teams were making their debut in the senior league.
Defending champions Shining Stars were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Young Romans.
Last year's runners-up, Ikamva Movers, beat Tottenham Spurs 2-0.
Crystal Palace scored the biggest win of the weekend when they beat Tomorrow Stars 3-0.
