I AM worried about xenophobic attacks in Port Elizabeth townships – this will cause war, socially and religiously. On top of that it will spread to other areas.
A better way of preventing this is for ward councillors to meet their community members at mass meetings, especially in those areas that are affected by xenophobia, and address the issue.
Ward councillors in areas that are not affected must also meet community members to campaign against xenophobia.
People are like animals, they must always be reminded of their nature and actions. They sometimes tend to forget what is wrong and what is right so the best way is to make them aware.
Prevention is better than cure.
The other problem is that when councillors meet community members, foreigners are mostly not involved.
Community leaders must organise mass meetings with unaffected communities and stop the xenophobia.
