NELSON Mandela Bay will be awash with the country's top women golfers when the 53rd Pick n Pay SA interprovincial tees off at PEGC from Tuesday to Friday next week.
The 18-hole championship layout will provide the stage for four days of intense competition between 14 A and B division teams contesting glory in South Africa's largest national team championship.
Women's Golf SA president Cynthia Rayner said the prestigious team championship showcased the undeniable talent of women golfers in South Africa and she was especially excited by the large number of junior players in the field.
While Amanda Ogden from Ekurhuleni, Millie Dondashe from Border and Southern Cape's Sonja Bland lead the veterans and seniors, 12-year-olds Woo-Ju Son from Gauteng B and Crystal Beukes from Boland represent the younger set.
Other juniors in action are Jamie- Lee Daniels, Tara Griebenow and Imkeleen Meyer from the host union, Border's Demi Flanagan and the WP A trio of Cara Gorlei, Kelly Erasmus and Ji Sun Kang.
The divisions are:
A, Jean Tindall Memorial Trophy: Gauteng North A and B, Boland, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, KZN, North West, WP A.
B, Nolan Karp Trophy: Border, EP, Free State & Northern Cape, Gauteng B, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Southern Cape, WP B.
